Frequently Asked Questions
Answers about BrandGeo data, models, prompts, citations, schedules, billing, and result limitations.
Does BrandGeo show every real user interaction with my brand?
No. BrandGeo runs approved prompts against configured API models. It does not have access to every personalized ChatGPT, Gemini, or Grok consumer session.
Is the visibility result a universal AI ranking?
No. Results describe a controlled sample under a specific prompt, model route, country, language, and time. Use them for repeatable diagnosis and comparison.
Why does an API answer differ from the AI website or app?
Consumer interfaces may use personalization, location, conversation history, different retrieval systems, or different model versions. API and consumer answers should not be assumed to match.
Why was my brand mentioned but not recommended?
The model may recognize the brand but lack sufficient evidence that it fits the requested use case. Open the response and compare the stated reasons, tradeoffs, competitors, and citations.
Why are citations missing?
The selected route may not support citations, source data may be temporarily missing, or the response may not expose sources. BrandGeo distinguishes these states where possible.
Are discovered brands automatically added as competitors?
No. Discovered brands are candidates found in answers. Confirm that a brand is a direct alternative before adding it to project settings.
What happens when I edit a prompt?
A material prompt edit changes the measurement. It should establish a new sequence or baseline rather than silently merging different questions into one trend.
How often does monitoring run?
Free projects monitor weekly. Eligible paid plans can monitor daily. Current project status and plan entitlements determine the actual schedule.
Can I export a report?
Eligible paid plans can export run data as CSV. Keep the prompt, model, market, language, and run-time context with exported metrics.
Does BrandGeo automatically change my website?
No. It reports observed gaps and recommendations. Your team decides what to publish and remains responsible for factual accuracy.
What should I do first when visibility is low?
Open the missed high-intent prompts, read the exact answers, inspect repeated competitors and sources, then choose one verifiable content or positioning gap to fix. Recheck under equivalent conditions.
