Project and Brand Setup

Configure the brand profile, market, competitors, and project settings used by every monitoring run.

Create a project

Enter the official brand name and website, then select the target country and prompt language. BrandGeo uses the public homepage to draft the initial profile and prompt candidates.

Each project should represent one brand in one coherent market context. Use separate projects when two markets require materially different competitors, languages, or positioning.

Review the brand profile

Check these fields before the first run:

  • Official name: the name customers and sources use.
  • Aliases: legitimate abbreviations or alternate spellings.
  • Category: the product category buyers recognize.
  • Positioning: a factual summary of the product's value.
  • Audience: the roles or organizations most likely to buy.
  • Website: the canonical official domain.

Remove unsupported claims. The profile helps prompt generation and response parsing; it should describe the current product, not an aspirational roadmap.

Configure competitors

Add direct alternatives only. A direct competitor serves a similar buyer need and could realistically replace your product in the decision represented by the monitored prompts.

BrandGeo may discover additional brands in model answers. Discovery does not automatically add them to the configured competitor set. Review them first.

Market and language

Country and prompt language define the monitoring context. Choose the market where the buyer makes the decision and the language they use for research. Changing either setting can make older and newer runs non-equivalent.

Update project settings

Project settings can be used to revise the brand profile, competitors, and monitoring configuration. After a material change:

  1. record what changed;
  2. review generated or managed prompts;
  3. treat the next valid run as a new baseline when needed;
  4. avoid presenting the old and new conditions as one uninterrupted trend.

Delete or leave a project

Project deletion and account lifecycle operations may remove access to reports and stored data. Review any available export and retention requirements before confirming a destructive action.
